We are delighted to publish Volume 9 of Engaging Students: Essays in Music Pedagogy. Since 2013, Engaging Students has been a platform for innovative student-centered pedagogy and a model of swift, open collaborative peer review. Following a series of production delays following the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are particularly happy to share this volume with the world. While our publication model lends itself to commentary on the present day, the enduring value of past articles and issues of Engaging Students gives us confidence that Volume 9 will continue to have relevance in 2025 and into the future. Our special thanks to Phil Duker, Cora Palfy, Dan Shanahan, Carla Coletti, and Sarah Sarver for their editorial work. Under a new editorial team, we are preparing to relaunch the journal and accept new submissions for Volume 10 in 2026.
